false identity - documents or information that falsely attests to the identity of a person

“A false identity may be obtained through

  • the creation of a fictitious identity 
  • the alteration of one’s own identity (identity manipulation)
  • the theft of assumption of a pre-existing identity (which may also involve subsequent manipulation)”
