Dr. Vishwanath Baba is a leading academic in organizational behaviour - the study of people in organizations, and the behaviour of the organizations themselves. Organizational design determines, to a large extent, the behaviour of the organization and the people within it. Factors ranging from performance, attendance, turnover and even sabotage are sentinels of effective or ineffective organizational design. Dr. Baba's research in the psychological elements of organizational behaviour has shed light on the ways people socialize, relate and perform in the workplace. His work connects the traditional administrative aspects of an employee's environment such as job design and management techniques with psychological aspects like identity, motivation, stress, personality type and occupational mental health.

Dr. Baba investigates mechanisms that organizations can use to create a functional work environment by determining the optimal experience for both the organization and the employee. With his interest in emerging economies, Dr. Baba has applied his work around the world including with Chinese nurses and Japanese airline workers.

In his private and public consulting, Dr. Baba has applied a global perspective to management theory, helped organizations incorporate management training and enabled the development of effective managerial skills among engineers and managers.
